I was lucky enough to tag out a week ago on this fine bull. I ambushed him as he was heading to a bedding area. He only made it about 30 yards.

Now I can focus on my mountain goat tag. It is going to be an archery kill or tag soup...at least that is what I'm telling myself.

I hope the rest of your respective seasons bring you great memories.

Matt

Awesome bull, congratulations! How long into the hunt were you when you tagged him?

I was lucky enough to get him on my first full day of hunting, and then spent the next 5 trying to get my brother a bull. I was also lucky enough to get a second crack at this guy, as I did not have time to range him and my guess of 40 yards was short. He gave me a second opportunity and the 50-yard pin did the job.

Here is another view. I wasn't trying to make the elk look huge, it is just that the only spot for me to sit was sandwiched between the bull and the downed log he wedged himself against.IMG_2239.JPG
