Need a scope

Hey Guys,
I bought a Win model 70 .270 featherweight and need to put a scope on it. Has anyone ever used the Leupold Ultralight? I don’t know the physics behind it but I was wondering if it is better/worse than VX II. My other rifle has a Nikon Monarch on it and I may jut get another one of those. Any thought would be appreciated.

IIRC the fl specs are the same as the VX III so it should be better than the VXII lens wise. It's a fairly new scope but Leupold is not known for poor quality. Nikons are probably OK but they are the only scope maker whose product has crapped out on me in the field. I'm not too inclined to give them a second chance.

I'd get a 40mm variable VXIII. The 3.5x10 would be a good match for the 270 ballistics.

I have a Leo ultralite on my 7-08. It's only an oz or two lighter, I would go with a VX II or III if I could do it over.
