Something weird going on. When I come to this site I automatically get Adobe Acrobat loaded before the home page loads. Why is that? Never seen that before.

Anyone else see this?

I never had heard of that.

You might want to clear your cookies and temp internet files then reboot.

we have no pdf files on this server that I know of so thats weird that you would get that msg to begin with.

Can you give me an address of the download? it will show in the lower left corner where is shows the exploer icon and says done.

It could be that you've got one of your file associations mis-assigned to Acrobat. Some cookie or script that is invoked at load time is sent to Acrobat rather than where it should be. One example (example only!) might be the "You have mail" file that plays when you have a PM in your inbox...if that's a WAV file and you have WAV files assigned to Acrobat by mistake, it will cause Acrobat to load when you have PM. ;)

To look at file associations in Windows XP, click Start/My Computer, select Tools/Folder Options, then click "File Types." There will be a long list of file types and their associated programs. Don't change anything unless you're sure of what you're doing, though!

delw, I'm using the msn browser, with win 982nd edition, it does it with IE as well
what happens is the adobe acrobat window opens for about 5 seconds then closes and hunt talk comes up.
I cleared the cookies and temp folders, didn't help.

I'm running internet explorer and it's about a year old, if that's what you wanted to know. I have also dumped all the cookies and internet history. and updated my microsoft regularly.

It opens an empty arcrobat window when I log in and if I close the window and try to move around the site it open another one, but just one, so if I leave it at the bottom of the screen I can move around just fine.

This is from our server it guys

Well, no one answered your question about what file was being downloaded and I can't reproduce it either via Firefox and IE both. Not sure what the problem is, but I think it safe to say that if it was a server side issue, it'd be affecting everyone, not just the few people reporting it.

I'd advise people to run a spyware scan as well. spyware/malware/virus... whatever, they're all known to cause odd problems like this.
