View Full Version : New Gallery Sucks ...

I know the New Version is Coming out Delw, And Maybe It's just cuz It's late. And I know the New gallery Idea has potencial and should work "seemless" and easy.... But the new Gallery right now Sucks !!
I went to go look for a Picture and couldn't find it.. So I started looking in other directories. I saw alot of pictures from people I knew in different directories. Here are a few other things I saw.
1. I can't sort my pics like I used to have them. I can jsut sort them by date added, views, ratings or names. In the other Version I could place #65 picture back to 34 if I liked. It helped when Adding pictures at the end of the year that you wanted in a certain order in the gallery.
2. Can't get the link to any song or Vid I upload. When I go to Properties of the sound clip I get the link to the Image. Sucks. I have a Few clips I wanted o post.
3. I lost a few Pictures. and the ones that came over are Scrambled. Mixed in different directories. Not all of them but I probably have the top pictures uploaded to the server. And to verify what pictures are in there would take another year.
4. NOT user friendly. I can't create directories, Organization is bad, and I can't find my way around anything..... I'm guessing it will jsut take some getting used to but right now its......|oo
5. Can't change the Image on my main page unless I put a Picture out there. In the old version I could Link it to the front. Now I need to move one there. I don't like Duplicate pics if I don't need.
6. Resizing options. I didn't see were I can Change the Resizing options. I like the 650 Bit Picture resize option is usually my default but for some Aplications I like the Option to change it. I don't see were that can happen.
I'm not trying to Start a Mutany here but My head hurts and All I like is Simple ease :) Delw, Give me any Dollar amount to make my Headache go away !!!! I'll PAy pal it to you in the morning !!!!
Either that or lets dump the idea until the new version comes out and Is running stable. Then lets retransfer the pictures over. Right now my Albums are a HUGE mess with Pictures missing or disaranged and this forum and Picture gallery is my LIFE, My Bread and Butter, My ZIN Schwa or what ever that Aura of Being is....

I havent had much time to play with the gallery lately but it does seem to have less options. I am waiting patiently for the newer one. I also am waiting for the cost. ;)

Right now this version BLOWS.I can not delete any pics still such as a damn ugly snake and a Bald Eagle I think in a nest, or make new photo albums,I was finally able to upload pics just the other day and it is alot faster than the old Gallery.So I am hoping that the NEW VERSION is the GOLDEN CHILD so to speak.Anxiously waiting to use the new version when it comes out.Thsnks for all the hard work you are doing Del.

i agree 100 percent with moosie...i have taken a lot of pics over the last couple weeks but i figure its not worth my time to find out how to post 'em cuz its so confusing.

I agree!!
The other gallery was easier to naviagate.
Yeah it sucks I agree, but the reason it sucks was cause I screwed up big time with it. I found out this am via Brian.
We are working on it to get it back to the way it should work, its going to take a few hours. so maybe tonight everyone will have full access to there albums.

the problem with different pics in differnt dirs was due to the way the importation worked. I will also get that fixed as well.
then after its all done and you dont like it you can shoot me and we will go back to the old one.(which I saved ;) )

HAHA I was. we got rained on snowed on hailed on all with in 1 hour. My fishing partner got stung by lightning when it hit a big sail boat in the marina, he had his hand in the water about 400 yards away from the strike and fishing sucked.
This am I tried calling you to tell you brian found the problem, but no answer ;) Slacker
I didnt even see this post till about 10 mins ago.
However this Am brian sent over some info on a repair ticket and I think we have it figured out. I just have to get it done as stated above.
I will go through each album 1x1 but saving yours for last oscar ;)
Seriously I will start working on them tonight.

Slacker.. I was With IdahoCrittergitter doing HuntTalk.com 3d Animation stuff :) The Cell was in the Wifes rig, I got it now. I'll be around this evening. If I need to go through Albums I'll help out. STARTING with "mine" fugger :D :D

How do you delete items in the new gallery? I use it to store stupid shit to post on other boards, now I can't delete it. What am I doing wrong.

Thanks Del for all the hard work on this.I can finally delete images that I have recently uploaded onto the new site.BUT I can not delete any of the pics that came over in the swap from the Old Gallery to the New One.

I just found out that my album has been invisible to everyone but me. That is up until a few minutes ago. Fixed now.
1. Has anyone else heard from others that their album can't be seen?
2. Del was this done on purpose for some reason? I swear the pics in there are for the most part fairly clean. ;) :D
3. Oscar, I just saw that most recently posted pic of yours and boy you are just wrong. :eek: :rolleyes: :p

Well I can now delete, but only new uploads and not the pics that were transferred over. Still not smart enough to add a highlight pic to my folder. I need to snoop around a bit more I guess.

Del believe it or not but I can delete any of the pics in my albums. Just can not delete a whole folder when needed. ;)
hmm I musta did something right on yours....
I can delete a whole album, let me know which one unless you know who it belngs to I can move it

Goto you gallery click on a picture
click the image tools
then click edit.

Fixed another item.
you can now add your catagory picture
click on the picture in your gallery you want to add as a category picture, then look at this attachment

Well where yours says "set as Category image" is I have "Delete this Image"
But it is still only on my recently posted pics and not the ones that were brought over from the old gallery.

Moosie, click on the thumbnail for it in the gallery. This will take it to a separate page with the gif on it. Right click and then copy shortcut. I just tried it and it does work. Now post you vids so we can see them. ;)

Elkhunter.... It didn't work.... Delw Sugested to try to Email the link and then copy it there.... that didn't work either.
Easy = better :D
(Edit, Elkhunter, It works for Pictures... but go to a video.. It doesn't work :( )
Brian says to try this Right click, "Copy Location".
I dont have a copy location but probally cause I am still running windows 98se and windows 2000

I have Copy,Copy shortcut,save picture as, Email Picture, print picture, Etc.. but no Copy location :(

Del...ALL the pics in my 2003 fishing folder are missing. Also alot of pics...like 3 pages from the old gallery are missing. Well those aren't all missing just all mixed up. But a couple are gone. And all my 2004 pics are in with the 2003 pics which makes the 2004 album empty.

I dont have it ready for guys to create there own yet( or women), I pretty much got this thing wrapped up just a few more things to do.
PC was down all day today oscar then the cable modem went down all day off and on more times off. so know I didnt get taht one fixed yet, just getting back online
