Thought I would throw in a picture of a couple of sage grouse I shot in 2000. I hunt alone most of the time, so it takes some time to set up the camera, run the clicker and have the dog hold a pose. Well, sage grouse is not a favorite of my dog. It took a few times to get him to hold on to the bird long enough for me to get the pic.
I have only shot a handful over the last couple of years just because they are not the greatest tasting bird, but it is an opportunity to work the pup early in the season.
I didn't shoot any last year, but might have to take one for the wall in 2003 before they are listed.
